County Committee Applications Being Accepted
USDA is accepting nominations for farmers and ranchers interested in serving on local FSA county committees. These committees help make decisions on how federal farm programs are administered at the local level.
“Local voices matter, and agricultural producers play an important role in shaping how federal farm programs serve their communities,” said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. “With nominations now open for FSA county committees, producers have an opportunity to put Farmers First by ensuring local farmers and ranchers have a voice in program delivery.”
To qualify, candidates must participate or cooperate in a USDA program and live within a Local Administrative Area that is up for election this year. A cooperating producer may qualify simply by providing information about their farming or ranching operation to FSA, even if they have never received program benefits. Producers can nominate themselves, be nominated by others, or be nominated by eligible organizations.

County committee members serve three-year terms and help guide disaster assistance, conservation, commodity, and price support programs. Nomination forms must be postmarked or received by a local USDA Service Center no later than August 3rd. To learn more, or for more information visit your local FSA office or visit the FSA's Website.
Nationwide, more than 7,700 dedicated members of the agriculture community serve on FSA county committees.
