North Central Washington Country Designated Natural Disaster
The USDA has designated Washington’s Okanogan County as a primary natural disaster area because of freeze and frost damage. The designation makes FSA emergency loans available to eligible producers recovering from losses.
Farmers in neighboring Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, Lincoln, Skagit and Whatcom counties may also qualify for assistance.
Those loans can help replace livestock or equipment, reorganize farming operations, or refinance certain debts. Producers have until March 31st to apply. Producers are encouraged to visit their local FSA office for details and/or questions.
