After the Trump Administration released its 2020 fiscal year budget proposal last week, many in the Ag community were upset, and some angered regarding potential 5% cuts to USDA service and other Ag focused programs.  While he acknowledged that cuts of that size could hurt the Ag economy at a very bad time, Representative Dan Newhouse said last week’s proposal is not a final draft, and a lot of work remains.

“I would just encourage all of the Ag groups to stay engaged in the process to help us make the case, for those provisions the have potential reductions to them so we can do as well as we can to make restorations where necessary.”

Newhouse said he’s already heard from several farming and conservation groups that have shared their thoughts on the budget proposal.  Click Here to read the Trump administration’s budget proposal.
