Canada Has Taken Advantage Of Us, Trump Notes
Dairy is once again at the center of trade war escalation with Canada as President Trump has banned Canadian dairy products and other goods plus government contracts with America’s second biggest trading partner. That, until Trump says Canada restores “full and fair reciprocity for American farmers and companies”.
“Canada has taken advantage of us, they’ve ripped us off for years, and now we’re turning the tables,” Trump said.
The order bans dairy, whey, molasses, liquor and motorcycles from Canada, starting September 29th. This is all in response to Canada’s U.S. alcohol ban and retaliatory tariffs on $20 billion in American imports after the U.S. imposed similar levies when talks broke down in August.

U.S. Trade Ambassador Jamieson Greer told Fox News, dairy is an old fight.
“Since even before the second Trump term, they’ve limited our ability to sell dairy into Canada," Greer said. "So, do we want these fixed? Yes, we do. Do we think that our dairy farmers and others should have a fair shot in Canada? We do.”
