Idaho Milk Products Opens Its New Jerome Facility
Last week, Idaho Milk Products cut the ribbon of its new $190 million ice cream and powder blending facility in Jerome. IMP officials said this facility will expand its value-added dairy operations and boost production capacity.
Company officials said the state-of-the-art facility combines high-speed ice cream manufacturing with large-scale powder blending, allowing the company to serve both retail and foodservice customers. The plant can produce up to 54,000 novelty ice cream items per hour, including bars, sandwiches, and cones, along with thousands of pints and larger containers.
CEO Daragh Maccabee said the facility represents years of planning and positions the company for future growth through customized dairy ingredient solutions. Company leaders said the project was completed on time and on budget through collaboration with employees, dairy farmer owners, and industry partners.
At full capacity, the Jerome facility will produce up to 300 million ice cream novelties and blend up to 120 million pounds of dry powder products annually.
