Idaho Cattle Producers Expect To Feel Encouraged For A While
While 2025 has been a challenge for a variety of Northwest farmers and producers, one sector that has enjoyed more wins than losses this year is ranching. Cameron Mulrony, Executive Vice President of Idaho Cattle said many feel good about where the industry is.
“We're getting healed up from a couple of those years that were maybe a little tight for folks just in the margin category, when we have those high expenses," he said. "Obviously we'd love to see $2 diesel because that has a big impact on the industry.”
Mulrony added producers across the state feel their sentiment will remain high for the foreseeable future.
“We're seeing some changes through this administration that we hope will be beneficial to our industry," Mulrony said. "You know kind of relieve some regulation. And those things all put guys in a good mood, you know. High prices, if you can maintain high prices, that helps us all be a little more cheery. So, we're hopeful and grateful for those and we're expecting it to continue, barring no Black Swan events.”
