After a week of very little weather news, it looks like the heat will return to the Inland Northwest.  But, first, according to Dennis Hull meteorologist with National Weather Service, we’ll see isolated rain showers across the area Thursday and Friday.  But, he says starting Saturday, the area will clear out, dry out and warm up with temperatures climbing into the 90s.

“With the clear skies, that could lead to sunburn on susceptible varieties of apples so some screening or sprinkling may be needed.  Also, moving cattle, you may want to schedule that before Sunday or after Monday to reduce the potential for heat stress.”

Hull noted this clear dry streak could run for 10 days or more.  Hull added humidity and winds should be low over the next week.  Irrigation requirement will increase as well.
