Over the past couple of days, some portions of the Inland Northwest saw their overnight lows drop into the mid 40s, with highs only reaching the 80s.  But, say goodbye to those mild temperatures.  Dennis Hull with the National Weather Services told the Washington Ag Network  after a cool conclusion to the workweek, we’re going to see temperatures increase across the area, with high reaching the century mark by early next week.  He added not only is it going to get hot across the area, but it’s also going to be very dry for the foreseeable future.

“Looking at the next 10-14 days looking at really not much precipitation for the rest of this month.  And we’ll have to get into August before we start seeing some seeing some precipitation.”

Hull notes that’s very good news, with wheat harvest being in earnest across the region.  Hull added with triple digits returning, it’s important additional caution is exercised.

“Mild to moderate level animal heat stress and that may affect some milk production.  And anyone working out side is going to want to stay hydrated during the early part of next week when we get these temperatures close to 100.”

Hull said irrigation use will hover around the 2” mark in the coming days with these warmer temperatures.
