Another Wolf Removed From SE Washington Pack
Days after announcing plans to remove at least one wolf from the Couse pack in Asotin County, Washington wildlife officials confirmed Wednesday that an adult female had been killed.
On Monday the 28th, Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife Director Kelly Susewind authorized incremental lethal removal, after repeated cattle depredations in the pack's territory. On Wednesday the 30th, that adult female was killed.
Department staff say they will monitor the situation. If additional livestock depredations indicate continued conflict, WDFW will consider another recommendation under the state’s Wolf Conservation and Management Plan and wolf-livestock protocol.
