According to NASS, all wheat stocks stored in the Pacific Northwest dropped 40% from September 1st, 2020. In Idaho stored wheat totaled 65.6 million bushels, down from 106 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 40%, while on-farm stocks were down 35% compared to the previous year. In Oregon, wheat stored topped out at 22.8 million bushels, down from 49.4 million bushels in 2020. Off-farm stocks were down 56%, while on-farm stocks were down 46% compared to the previous year. In Washington, 114 million bushels of wheat were in storage to start September, down from 182 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 34%, while on-farm stocks were down 57% compared to the previous year.

Nationally, wheat stored in all positions totaled 1.78 billion bushels, down from 2.16 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 6%, while on-farm stocks were down 41% compared to the previous year.

Barley stocks in all positions on September 1st, 2021 totaled 43.9 million bushels in Idaho, down from 52.2 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 28%, while on-farm stocks were down 7% compared to the previous year. In Oregon, barley stored in all positions totaled 861,000 bushels, down from 1.35 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 46%, while on-farm stocks were down 20% compared to the previous year. In Washington, barley stored in all positions totaled 5.44 million bushels, down from 8.70 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 33% bushels, while on-farm stocks were down 50% compared to the previous year. Nationally, barley stored in all positions totaled 135 million bushels, down from 179 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 18%, while on-farm stocks were down 29% compared to the previous year.

Oats stored in off-farm locations on September 1st, 2021 totaled 90,000 bushels in Idaho, down from 169,000 bushels a year ago. In Oregon, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 299,000 bushels, down from 308,000 bushels the previous year. In Washington, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 60,000 bushels, down from 93,000 bushels the previous year. Nationally, oats stored in all positions totaled 62.1 million bushels, down from 66.9 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 11%, while on-farm stocks were down 19% compared to the previous year.

Corn stored in off-farm locations on September 1, 2021 totaled 3.47 million bushels in Idaho, up from 2.84 million bushels a year ago. In Washington, corn stored in off-farm locations totaled 1.67 million bushels, down from 4.46 million bushels a year ago. Nationally, corn stored in all positions totaled 1.24 billion bushels, down from 1.92 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 28%, while on-farm stocks were down 47% compared to the previous year.
