Time’s ticking for local organic farmers; if you want your voice heard in the 2025 USDA Organic Survey, now’s the time to act.

Starting later this month, NASS will kick off the 3rd and final phase of the 2025 Agricultural Resource Management Survey.

The 2025 potato planted acreage forecast is 912,000 acres, a 2% reduction from last year. If realized, that would be the fewest potato acres since 1954.

NASS is conducting the 2025 Organic Survey. Survey codes are being mailed to respondents with an invitation to reply online.

NASS will release several key agriculture reports in November, including a monthly crop supply and demand report that wasn’t issued last month because of the government shutdown.

The information collected in the survey allows NASS to accurately measure and report conditions and trends in the U.S. milk industry over the course of a year.

The record world wheat production continues to grow. Mark Jekanowski said the production forecast is now at 816.2 million tons.

Apple production is estimated at 11.5 billion pounds, a 5.7% increase over last season. Pear production is expected to be up 22.4% year-over-year.
