New for the livestock industry in 2025 is NovaGraz, a broad spectrum, non-residual herbicide that controls large number of broadleaf weeds all while preserving white Clover and annual lespedeza.  Sam Ingram Field Scientist with Corteva AgriSience said producers wishing to control those broad leaves, but keep white Clover, didn’t really have a good option until now.  Ingram noted that NovaGraz handles precipitation very well, which is good news for Northwest producers, especially this year.

“So, it offers flexibility to producers that want to maybe rotate out of, say, a forge crop into a different kind of crop," Ingram said.  "So, that rotation interval is very short. So, producers going to have flexibility there.  It will control the weeds that are up and that are growing. It's a non-residual herbicide. We're not going to have anything persist in the soil. So, it offers great flexibility there and  good broad spectrum weed control. There are no grazing restrictions on it, so we're not going to have to remove cattle when we make that application. It's a very short time there."

Ingram added NovaGraz is a great addition for the toolbox for an abundant, diverse, high-quality forage that improves soil fertility and livestock production.
