IFBF: Legislation Proving Property Owners Tax Relief Clears House
According to the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation, property owners in the Gem State may soon see some tax relief. Supporters of House Bill 304 say the legislation would provide an additional $100 million of annual property tax relief to Idahoans starting in 2025.
“Through the bill, $50 million would go to the School Facilities Fund, reducing the amount taxpayers pay on voter approved school bonds or levies," said the IFBF's Dex Lake. "The other $50 million would be directed to the homeowner Property Tax relief account, lowering property taxes for owner occupied residential properties.”
Lake noted, HB 304, which the IFBF supports, cleared the House last week, and now moves to the state Senate’s local government and Taxation Committee for further consideration.
