Legislation requiring government employees to obtain permission, or a warrant before entering private property in Idaho has been signed into law.  Senate Bill 1326 was signed by Governor Brad Little Wednesday, after the legislation cleared both the House and Senate.

Dexton Lake with the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation pointed out that SB 1326 does allow for exceptions, in narrowly defined emergencies.

"The bill was carefully crafted with input from county prosecutors and sheriffs to ensure it does not interfere with legitimate law enforcement duties. The bill passed overwhelmingly, 30 to 5 in the Senate and 65 to 3 in the House, with little opposition.”

Lake added most lawmakers considered SB 1326 a common-sense bill, codifying long-standing constitutional protections against government intrusion.
