Two Idaho Counties Designated As Disaster Areas
Because of lengthy drought conditions, USDA declared Bingham and Camas counties as primary natural disaster areas on Thursday.
Bingham and Camas counties suffered from prolonged drought conditions during the 2025 growing season.
Because of Thursday’s designation, ten neighboring counties are eligible for assistance as well, including Bannock, Blaine, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Elmore, Gooding, Jefferson, Lincoln and Power.
This designation allows FSA to extend emergency credit and emergency loans to producers trying to recover from last year’s drought conditions.
FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.
Additional USDA Resources
On farmers.gov, the Disaster Assistance Discovery Tool, Disaster Assistance-at-a-Glance fact sheet, and Loan Assistance Tool can help producers determine program or loan options. To file a Notice of Loss or to ask questions about available programs, farmers are encouraged to contact their local USDA Service Center.
The application deadline is August 31st.
