“We have a variety trail out there in the growers field, so people can come out, they can view those varieties grown in the same field under the same condition," Waters said.  "There's a lot of the varieties that are in there kind of the favorites that growers grow. And then there's newer ones out there as well. So, a good opportunity for them to come out and look at those varieties.”

Field Days Are Good For Growers, Researchers Alike

Waters added WSU onion researchers will make presentations during Thursday’s field day.

“It's a really good opportunity for growers and WSU personnel to interact and to get ideas on the types of problems growers are having and how we need to be aiming our future research," he said.  "So that's one of my favorite parts of the field day is getting a bunch of people there talking about what we are doing currently and then getting an idea of what their problems are and how we can modify our research.”
