WSU Canola Tours Start Tuesday

The WSU Oilseed Cropping Systems Project's winter and spring canola tours get underway Tuesday, and run through mid-June.  The first event is May 15^th and includes a stop at a winter canola variety trial at Brew Farm in The Dalles.  This season’s tour includes stops in Ritzville, Mansfield, Walla Walla and Ralston.  Karen Sowers says not only are these trials a good opportunity to see the varieties up close and personal, and have your questions answered.

“Experienced and other non-experienced growers potentially, and field men and women and other industry folks there, that are great resources for information, and WSU and OSU.  Again, it’s an opportunity to knock on doors for any and all information possible about canola production and marketing.”

Here is the rundown for the winter and spring canola variety trials:

Winter canola:

May 15 –Brewer farm, The Dalles, OR – 7:30 a.m. meet at Auction Sales Company Gravel Lot (1400 US Hwy 197). This is a Wasco Co. crop tour organized by OSU and our plots are one of the stops. A flyer is attached.
