Figures from NASS show a significant increase in the number of canola planted acres nationwide.  According to the June 30th Acreage Report, in the seven primary states, 2,965,000 acres of canola was planted, a 26.8% year-over-year increase.  This year's acreage is also well above the previous high-water mark of 2.7 million acres in 2024.

Here is the Northwest, Idaho’s acreage increased 16% to 95,000, while Washington reported a 17% increase in canola, to 175,000 acres.  Top producing state, North Dakota, reported a 30% year-over-year increase in canola acres.
