Winter Wheat Plantings Done Across Much of The Nation

Winter wheat planting wrapping up across the U.S.

“95% of the winter wheat planted by November 12^th is equal to the average, and one point ahead of last year," according to USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey.

“We now see winter plantings complete in a number of major production states including Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota and Washington,” Rippey added.

He notes emergence is right on schedule for most of the nation, with little change over the past week.  The good-to-excellent category sits at 54%, the very poor-to-poor category held steady at 11%.  But Rippey added the 2017 drought most likely will impact wheat grown across the upper plains
