UI’s Snake River Weed Management Tour Set For Wednesday
The University of Idaho’s 2026 Snake River Weed Management Tour and Field Day is slated for Wednesday morning in Kimberly. The UI’s Albert Adjesiwor said this week’s event will include half a dozen stops and fields around the Research and Extension Centerr, allowing growers to get the latest updates when it comes to Palmer amaranth and waterhemp research, understanding what they resistant to and how best to manage those problematic weeds.
“And also, the other herbicide resistant weeds that are present in the states, so kochia, wild oats, come to see what you can do in your crop, not just relying on the salesman pitch about what product they should buy, but see how those products perform in a research trial with heavy weed pressure,” Adjesiwor said.
He added Wednesday’s Field Day will also be an opportunity for growers to get a preview of new products that are coming down the road and find out if they’ll be a good fit for sugarbeets, wheat or a host of other crops. Wednesday’s Snake River Weed Management Tour at Field Day starts with registration at 8 a.m. (MT) with tours following at 9 a.m. (MT).
