The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed this week, two additional wolves from the Pine Creek Pack were shot and killed in Baker County.  ODFW said the yearling female and adult male, both uncollared were shot from a helicopter Tuesday evening.  The pair was spotted on private land.

Tuesday’s shooting took place days after three depredations were attributed to the pack.  That brings the number of confirmed depredations in the area this month to five by the Pine Creek Pack, resulting in four dead calves and six injured calves.  ODFW said producers in the area have implemented non-lethal activities.

The Pine Creek Pack is now estimated to number five wolves, including a breeding male, breeding female and three yearling wolves.
