The Oregon Cattlemen’s Association is already looking ahead to the 2019 legislative session.  OCA Executive Director Jerome Rosa said there are several proposed pieces of legislation they would like to see move forward in Salem, and one focuses on increasing the compensation to cattle producers that suffer from a wolf depredation.  While he did not give a dollar amount that the OCA is looking for, he said with more and more wolf and cattle interaction occurring statewide, something must be done to help producers that have their livelihoods damaged by wolves.
