Over the holidays, Alexis Taylor officially changed roles from Director of the Oregon Department of Agriculture, to the USDA’s Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.  And many in the farming community say the move is good news for Oregon.

“She was always a friend to OCA," noted Oregon Cattlemen’s Association President-elect Matt McElligott. "She came to our meetings every year that she could and she spoke at several of them.  It's nice having somebody in Washington D.C. that you know on a personal basis, and they know you.  So that'll do nothing but help us as far as trade goes, so I'm excited to work with her in her new capacity.”

OCA President Todd Nash added with Oregon being so trade dependent, especially with Asia, Taylor’s appointment will be of benefit for all commodities across the state.
