On Thursday, the USDA designated Klickitat County as a primary natural disaster area.  Producers who suffered losses due to a recent drought may be eligible for FSA emergency loans.  The designation allows FSA to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering this summer’s drought.  Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including replacing essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganizing a farming operation or refinance certain debts.

Producers in neighboring counties, including Benton, Skamania, and Yakima, Gilliam, Hood River, Morrow, Sherman, and Wasco counties are also eligible to apply for emergency loans.  The deadline to apply for these emergency loans is June 4, 2019.

To apply, visit your local FSA office, or visit the USDA’s Website.
