Have A Wine Research Idea? WSWC Wants To Hear From You
The Washington State Wine Commission will begin accepting viticulture and enology research proposals for fiscal year 2028 on Friday, September 18th. The competitive grants support research aimed at practical solutions for Washington vineyards and wineries, including projects that can be quickly applied in the field, as well as longer-term studies.
In years past, the program has funded researchers at Washington State University, other universities and private contractors, helping bring new ideas and research to the state’s wine industry.

Pre-proposals are due October 23rd. Projects selected to move forward will submit full proposals in January, with research presentations scheduled for February in Prosser.
The Wine Commission said the program is designed to strengthen collaboration and leverage research funding to address challenges facing Washington wine grape growers and wineries.
