For a farming operation to be successful, data is almost as important as good weather and good soil.  The Farm Service Agency is trying to make data even easier to get, through FSA Farm+.  Washington FSA President Judy Olson says producers have been asking for updated technology and information, as well as access to their own individual records and mapping.
"Producers rely very heavily on the maps the Farm Service Agency creates of their farms and their fields, their crop plantings, their CRP acres," Olson added.  "This Farm+ now makes that available to any farmer that signs up for their particular farm.”

Olson told the Washington Ag Network privacy is protected via Farm+, and the information can be accessed from a laptop or smart device.

Walla Walla farmer Steve Hair says Farm+ was worth the wait.

“It’s taken a lot time, but this rollout…I like it.  I think most farmers will.”
