
Enrolment In Emergency Livestock Relief Program Underway
Back in the spring, FSA rolled out a disaster relief program aimed at livestock producers. The first phase addressed producers suffering drought or wildfire related losses.
“The Emergency Livestock Relief Program with over a billion in relief already paid out to producers who suffered grazing losses due to these droughts and wildfires in calendar year 2023 and 2024," said Brooke Appleton, Farm Production and Conservation Deputy Under Secretary.
She noted sign up started Monday, September 15th, for the 2nd part of what is known as ELRP, about $1 billion. in disaster recovery assistance to help livestock growers offset increased supplemental feed costs due to a qualifying flood or wildfire event over the past two years. Sign-up continues until October 31st at local FSA offices.
