The Central Oregon Irrigation District announced this week that the Central Oregon canal, which services the east side of Bend, as well as Alfalfa and Powell Butte, as well as the Pilot Butte canal, which services the north end of Bend, Redmond and Terrebonne are scheduled to be turned on April 6th.

District official says this initial water will be at a stock water run level, and will increase to 50% with live flow availability.  COID stresses that they start up at stock water levels to get the system filled and to replenish stock ponds.  Typically, this is not enough water to get irrigation systems up and going for the first couple of weeks.

For users that are on a rotation, schedules will be mailed out the first week of April; start date for rotations is April 13th.
