Cherry growers across the Northwest continue to move at a healthy clip trying to reach consumer demand.  Northwest Cherry Growers said as of Wednesday 19,473,061 million 20-pound boxes have been shipped.  The expectation remains that strong volume will stick through the end of the month of July and into August.

NCG added even last year’s record-setting early season pace does not hold up compared to the strong start reported this year.  Since July 1st, the Northwest cherry industry has maintained an average 529,491 boxes per day, a 9,000 box increase from this time last week.  And export demand remains strong.

The 2018 crop is delivering 9 row cherries to 40 markets worldwide, and exports have made up 35% of all Northwest Cherry shipments.
