The latest USDA led Ag trade mission is underway this week to Guatemala

“Guatemala, Central America's biggest economy and our top customer in the region," said Foreign Agricultural Service acting associate administrator Mark Slupek.  He is heading the delegation for the Guatemala ATM, or Agricultural Trade Multiplier.

“This trade mission brings together more than two dozen agribusinesses, trade groups and officials from Idaho and Wisconsin's agriculture departments. It spans industries like seafood, fresh fruit, grains, rice, hemp, and soybeans.”

Delegation members will conduct business to business meetings with buyers from Guatemala, along with neighboring CAFTA-DR counties,  Honduras and El Salvador, during the trade mission taking place through Friday March 7th.  Farm and food export sales to Guatemala reached $1.9 billion last year, while $1.4 billion worth of U.S. farm products were sent to Honduras in 2024.
