Walla Walla Community College’s John Deere Tech Program was recently awarded Platinum status for its outstanding work in 2024.  School officials said its Platinum Status recognition is reserved for programs that go above and beyond in key areas such as instructor development, advisory board engagement, enrollment, retention, facilities, processes, scholarships, and safety.

“This award reflects the commitment of the school, our instructors, and the dealerships we collaborate with,” said Program Director Matthew Bishop.  “We all believe in the value of this program, which is why it has thrived for the past 30 years.”

Bishop took over the John Deere Tech Program in 2023.  The WWCC John Deere Tech Program was launched in 1994, making it the 2nd program of its kind in the country; the first program launched in Milford, NE.

“For a long time, we were the only program west of the Mississippi, and to this day, we remain the only one west of the Rockies,” Bishop said.

The Platinum Status provides greater access to scholarships and expanded training opportunities for both students and faculty.  If you're Interested in learning more about WWCC's John Deere Tech Program, visit the School's Website.
