Washington State University will hold its annual Onion Field Day August 30th at Harley Farms outside of Prosser.  WSU’s Tim Waters said this is a great field day for onion growers or consultants.

“It’s a variety trial, is the main reason we want growers to attend.  You can come look at varities under local growing conditions.  So 54 different varieties from eight different seed companies.”

Waters added researchers from WSU and some from Oregon State will be on hand to discuss the results of the trail, or answer specific questions.  There’s also a BBQ lunch to wrap up the field day.
