Wet Warm Weather Expected In Coming Days

In a wild week where many portions of the Northwest saw their first killing freeze of the season, and ample sun, we look to wrap up the week with abnormally warm and wet weather.  Dennis Hull with the National Weather Service said there’s very little risk well see a repeat of last week’s high elevation snow showers.

“Snow levels are going to be very high with this, we’re not expecting any really cold weather.  In fact temperatures probably in the, overnight temperatures in the 30s and 40s for this week and and much of next week.”

Hull said some portions of the Cascades and Blues saw over a foot of snow this weekend.  But the weather ahead will be wet and mild.  So, should we expect a La Nina this winter?

“Right now, it’s about a 55%-65% chance, so just a little better than 50/50 odds, so right now, I’m not really hanging my hat too much on that.  Again, we’re not expecting any extreme conditions probably into the early part of November.”

Hull added the showers will be welcomed relief to Central Washington, where most soil reading are in the abnormally dry or drought category.
