Dozens Gather For Washington Viticulture Field Day
Roughly 50 growers, professional, graduate students and others gathered Thursday outside of Benton City, WA to talk about the latest grape research. The event, put on by WSU Viticulture Extension and the Washington Grape Society started with a root stock grafting demonstration by Inland Desert Nursery.
From there, participants toured vineyards, learning about the latest in soil-borne pest control, as well as grape mealybug mating disruption and monitoring for grape mealybug.
The field day included a presentation about the newest spray application sensor technologies.
WSU continues with the field days Friday, with the 2025 Smart Orchard Field Day near Mattawa.
