While still increasing in size, the rate of growth in Washington’s vineyards has slowed over the past couple of years.  According to NASS, wine grape acreage in 2017 hit 55,445 acres, up over 26% in the past six years.  While that is an impressive jump, looking at the previous six year period shows the statewide slowdown.  NASS adds wine grape acreage across Washington increased 41.1% from 2006 to 2011.

It’s not just wine grapes that are grown in Washington.  Statistics show 21,632 acres of juice grapes in 2017 a decrease from 2011.  To check out the latest vineyard numbers, visit the NASS' Website.
