The Washington Apple Commission announced this week it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporter and Importer Association (ASEIBSSINDO).  The agreement, signed on July 24th,  acknowledges the relationship between Washington apple growers and ASEIBSSINDO members.  ASEIBSSINDO confirmed they wished to import Washington apples in a range of varieties and sizes throughout the year.

The Apple Commission said they would support the importation of Washington apples through promotional activities to help expand sales.

"The MoU confirms the importance of Washington apple exports to Indonesia for both sides of the trade,” said Rebecca Lyons, Washington Apple Commission International Marketing Director.  “There is a long-standing history between these markets. The agreement to continue this relationship is an act of cooperation and it was an effort by both parties to establish a strong future of trade.”
