Spring time weather has varied greatly as you look across the Northwest.  Marilyn Lohmann with the National Weather Service said Oregon has seen an above average amount of rain, while Yakima and the Tri-Cities have been on par for this time of year.  However, the rain has failed to move north.

“Wenatchee just near to slightly above and then the further north you go, unfortunately, the worse the conditions get with below normal and well below normal up by Omak, and right up along the border and stuff, so quiet a gradient of precipitation numbers, and North Central Washington was dry though most of the winter as well.”

One thing the region has shared in, is above average temperatures.  Lohmann said that was thanks primarily to overnight lows that were well above average.

As we look to the week head, she says the mild temperatures will continue with occasional showers.  However, temperatures are expected to drop slightly heading into Easter Sunday.  And as far as the end of the month is concerned, she expects below normal temps with above normal precipitation.

“April is one of our more mixable and wetter months, so it looks like its following through on that.”
