The U.S. Meat Export Federation continues to look for new an emerging markets for Americans producers to sell cuts and other products.  One of the markets where many experts see the greatest potential is Africa.  Monty Brown, USMEF representative in Africa, says Ghana is a  good fit for American exports, thanks to the grocery store chain Palace.

"Palace probably has the biggest retail space that I've seen in Africa, and they're in the process of building another four supermarkets.  Very forward looking.  The company sells U.S. beef.  They have a whole range of products."

Brown adds Angola and South Africa have a lot of potential, specifically in the area of U.S. Pork.  Speaking of South Africa, USMEF will take part in Africa's Big 7 - the continent's largest annual food and beverage trade show - which will be held in Johannesburg in late June.
