A recent study by Tufts University of Medford, MA, shows the benefit of 4-H on a young person’s life and their willingness to give back to the community as adults.  The study looked at 4Hers grades 7-12, and found they are four times more likely to make contributions to the communities.  They are also about two times more likely to participate in science programs during out of school hours.

10th grade 4-H girls are two times more likely to take part in science programs compared to girls in other out of school actives; that rate jumped to three times more likely for 4-H girls in the 12th grade.  And the study found 4-Hers in the 7th grade are nearly two time more likely to make healthier choices.
