In the Washington state Legislature, Friday was the cutoff deadline to have bills clear committee allowing for a vote on the floor.  So, how have Republicans and Democrats worked together in Olympia so far this session?

 

“I think it’s below the level it was when the majority level caucus was running the senate," said Senate republican leader Mark Schoesler.  "It kept everyone at the table.  Right now, if you’re not an extreme environmentalist or labor boss, you’re probably not at the table.”

 

Many Republicans in Olympia have pointed to the discrepancy of GOP proposals compared to Democrat proposals that have advanced as evidence of a lack of bipartisan work in the Washington state Legislature.  The final day of the regular session in April 28th.
