Students seeking a post high school program focused on agriculture have an opportunity to pull in additional scholarship money.  Kay Meyer, executive Director for the Pacific Northwest Direct Seed Association says the $2,500 scholarship is made possible by the Responsible Nutrient Management Foundation.

“And that foundation is bringing together entities all over the Untied States that are looking to try and create awareness about stewardship and sustainability outside the agriculture industry and the safe use of responsible nutrients.”

Meyer said students do not need to be pursuing a specific avenue in agriculture, but just be enrolled a two-year or four year school.  Meyer said students will need to have a good high school GPA, and complete a 1,500 word essay.

Applications are due Friday June 15th.  Meyer said money will be awarded in August, just in time for school.
