OSU Plates Available Starting Monday
Oregon’s DMV rolls out the latest specialty license plate, and it’s a big win for Beaver Nation. The new Oregon State University license plate is officially available Monday April 7th, but it’s not the first OSU plate. Chris Crabb, with the Oregon DMV, said the previous incarnation was offered through a discontinued state program.
“It was just your basic tree plate with the little beaver to the left, and I think Beaver fans have been wanting something much more grand. So now they get their wish."
She said the new “BV” plate is more dramatic and bold.
“It’s got a black background, ‘Oregon’ is above the numbers in bright orange, and then ‘the Beaver state’ is underneath the numbers in bright orange. You still have your little beaver off to the left."
OSU sold three-thousand pre-order vouchers to get the plate into production, proving to the DMV there was enough demand. Just like other specialty plates, it’ll cost $40 over the price of the standard tree plate, with the proceeds benefiting OSU athletics.
