Oregon State Police is asking the public for help identifying the person(s) responsible for the poaching of a wolf in Union County. According to OSP Fish and Wildlife, on January 29th, troopers were called to the Catherine Creek Lane area, roughly 11 miles southeast of Union, where a wolf tracking collar was located.  The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife identified Collar OR 86 as belonging to the alpha male of the Frazier Mountain pack.  The wolf carcass was not located.

OSP Fish and Wildlife troopers believe the collar was removed following the unlawful take of OR 86, likely within the month of January.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Turn In Poachers (TIP) hotline at (800) 452-7888 or *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone.  Those submitting tips are asked to reference case number SP25-032551.

Anyone with information may remain anonymous.  If the information leads to a citation or arrest, a TIP reward of cash or preference points will be offered.
