From September 1st 2017 to September 1st this year, wheat stocks across the Northwest jumped 11%.

 

In Washington, wheat stored in all positions September 1st totaled 166 million bushels, up from the 152 million bushels from a year earlier.  Off-farm stocks were up 7%, while on-farm stocks were up 32% year over year.  In Oregon, wheat stored in all positions totaled 44.0 million bushels, up from 41.9 million bushels a year ago.  Off-farm stocks were up 7%, while on-farm stocks were down 8% compared to 2017.  For Idaho, all wheat stored jumped from 70.0 million bushels to 83.0 million bushels this year.  Off-farm stocks were up 22%, while on-farm stocks were up 13% compared to the previous year.

 

Nationally, wheat stored in all positions totaled 2.38 billion bushels, up from 2.27 billion bushels a year ago.  Off-farm stocks were down 1%, while on-farm stocks were up 28% compared to the previous year
