According to NASS, 52% of Washington spring wheat is planted, that compares with the 27% in the ground last week.  While the week over week increase was noticeable plantings remain behind last year, at 72%, and the five-year average of 73%.

 

And at 4%, emergence is well behind where Washington spring wheat should be for this time of year.  Meanwhile 1% of the winter wheat crop is headed, which is slightly below the five year average of 2%.  And 68% of the winter wheat crop is rated Good to Excellent.

 

In Oregon, 62% of the spring wheat crop is planted, with 31% emerged.  Both figures are behind last year’s and the five-year average.  When it comes to winter wheat, 65% of the Oregon crop is considered Good to Excellent.

 

For Idaho 61% of the spring wheat crop is planted, up from last week’s 40%, but still well off the five-year average.  When it comes to winter wheat headed, Idaho is currently sitting at 1%, off from last year’s figures.  And 66% of the winter wheat crop is considered Good to Excellent.
