Pasture and rangeland conditions have improved across the central and southern Great Plains, thanks to abundant rainfall as of recent.

"As of the 30th of May, we're seeing the good to excellent rating 31% nationally That's up 3% from last week, but we still see39% of the pastures and rangelands rated very poor to poor no change from a week ago.," said USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey. He added some of the biggest improvements were reported in the Mid West.

"States like Wisconsin and Ohio as well as the Great Plains states like Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas."

Meanwhile, the Northwest, Rippey noted, is on the other end of the spectrum.

"All of those dry and stressed rangelands and pasture lands across the western half of the country, things continue to get worse especially in states like Washington Nevada and Montana. We've also seen a recent decline in pasture conditions in the southern Atlantic states especially in Georgia and Florida."
