The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service will be conducting an in-person conservation survey to highlight the practices they use.

Joe Parsons with NASS on the Conservation Effects Assessment Project said, “This is part of a series of surveys we’ve worked with NRCS on. Some of the have been focused on a particular watershed, but this is the second of two parts of a national level survey where we looked at conservation effects across the United States.”

The surveys will be conducted through February on the different practices that are in use and the resources that are needed to support conservation work.

Parsons said they’re looking for data on conservations plans, practices, production, crop protection, buffer strips and more.

“These data really allow NRCS to be able to evaluate and understand the value of putting conservation in place and what the effects are on the land and really show the value of conservation.”
