The Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center has a new Wine Program Director.  Starting Friday, Rachel Mercer will become the will be joining the Clore Center.  She replaces April Reddout, who launched the wine program at the Clore Center and recently became Guest Services Manager at Col Solare.

 

Mercer will oversee the tasting room operation and wine club, wine experiences and education, and support the many large events planned throughout the year.  She has experience with nonprofit organizations, and a passion for celebrating Washington wine and agriculture.

 

"Rachel will be an asset to an already strong team" says Abbey Cameron, Executive Director. "I look forward to working with her and continuing to find ways to celebrate and support this great industry."

 

Rachel has most recently been Consumer Support Director at Mercer Wine Estates and has a strong background in wine having achieved Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 3. She also has experience as a chef and winery consultant, and a strong family connection to the wine industry as her parents, Don and Linda Mercer were vineyard growers and pioneers of the Horse Heaven Hills AVA.

The Clore Center tasting room is open daily 11am-5pm featuring a rotating selection of wines from across the state, a year-round calendar of activities, and is available for a wide range of private events.
