The books are officially closed on the 2025 Northwest Cherry Season.  Growers shipped 23,617,800 20-pound boxes this year, a 4.6% increase from the season estimate of 22,578,700 million boxes.

Karley Lange Director of Domestic Promotions at Northwest Cherries says this was the largest crop reported in the past six seasons.

“In 2023, we expected to have a big crop, but a lot of the growers ended up leaving a lot of fruit on the trees that year," Lange noted.  "And then last year, had the freeze not happened, we probably would have had a very similar size crop as well.”

Lange added this year’s quality was outstanding.

“From a quality standpoint, you couldn't have asked for better fruit," she said.  "I mean, the size is there, the sugars were there, the fruit looked phenomenal.”

Lange said labor and retail pricing were a few of the issues before Northwest growers this year.
