Earlier this month, Governor Jay Inslee issued a proclamation to help the dairy industry across much of Washington.  Because of winter storms that have pounded the Inland Northwest, leaving roadways across Central and Eastern Washington covered in ice, Inslee issued a state of emergency to ensure bulk milk products are delivered in a timely fashion.  In his proclamation earlier this month, Inslee said the storms have delayed essential intrastate collection and delivery of bulk milk products from dairy farms to processing facilities.  He added milk supplies can become quickly depleted due to limited storage capacity, and the limited shelf life of dairy products.

Inslee continued delivery of bulk milk products is incident to the immediate restoration of essential food supplies and public health statewide.  To read Inslee’s proclamation, Visit the Governor's Website.
